January 2006

The National Bushfire Alert early warning service was launched, gaining recognition across government and communities alike.

A demonstration to over 1200 government officials and interested community leaders participated in a live demonstration of sending out alerts to home, work and mobile phones, email and SMS.

A second demonstration to over 1,100 phones was carried out to residents of the Lower Eyre Peninsula where a year earlier a savage wildfire had claimed 9 lives.

The technology has been developed and patented by Skunkworks for early warnings across any emergency such as tsunamis, flood, fire, epidemic, terrorism, etc.

National Bushfire Alert is operated by Skunkworks for all the benefit of all Australians living in bushfire prone areas for a low nominal fee of $25 per property per year which includes the alerts and GST.
